What We Do

The Glendale Handcraft Gallery LLC offers a variety of artworks made by creative artisans and craftsmen in the area and around the country. The art is displayed in a boutique atmosphere—easy for the shopper to enjoy.

Our goal is to promote and encourage the tri-state artists and handcraft entrepreneurial spirit by displaying a selection of their finest works—art, crafts, jewelry, household wares—plus you may find an antique or two tucked into our little suburban boutique.

Stop by to browse our selection; find a treasure; and together we’ll encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of America.

A transfer will take us out of the city... Until then shop on line for the same unique gifts!

 From April 2009:

The little shop at 15 West Sharon, near the corner of West Sharon and Congress, is owned by a graduate of  the University of Cincinnati (College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning) who is a lover of many art forms. She has been a hands-on-kind-of-teacher during 15 years of teaching art in the public school.

When asked about her love for art she said,

“Since childhood I have loved art and still observe colors, shapes, and textures.Creating an object from start to finish and all the way to the consumers’ hands, I appreciate seeing the beauty of how it all fits together to make life more fun and enjoyable.

“And living in Europe as a teenager, traveling there on many occasion since, and spending time at the Louvre in Paris, France has helped me to appreciate the many forms of art, as well as expand my appreciation for the unique gifts of the artist.”

“. . . and, oh, I love finding unique art tucked away in the tiny boutiques throughout Europe."

When asked:

“Why own a shop? Why not just enjoy creating your own art pieces?”

Her response:

“Throughout history the entrepreneurial spirit has been alive and well. It is what helped to build America . We see it in the history of our village. We watch it continue today in many forms—and especially among some of the artist and craftsmen in our area.

“I suppose we are not so unlike the many shops that sprang up across American during the 18th and 19th centuries—the shops that incorporated cooperation, retailing, and the helping of one another in successfully presenting and selling their creative works—whether oil paintings, pottery, jewelry, quilting, or needlepoint.

“Our goal is two-fold:

  1. Encourage the entrepreneurial and independent spirit in artist and craftsmen.
  2. Offer an opportunity for artistic treasures to be easily displayed in a boutique-style setting in the suburban community.

“Our boutique provides a space where unique quality art is made available and convenient to us in the suburb. (Also look for special art classes and trunk shows from time to time)—and, yes; you may even find a piece of my art tucked away in the boutique once in awhile—hence the answer to why our little boutique shop was born.”
